The first EXPAND Hackathon involved students from the “Manufacturing 4.0” second-level Master’s program at the Politecnico di Torino, in collaboration with Monitor the Planet and the project team.
The challenge and the ultimate goal?
To design innovative strategies for the autonomous navigation of robots in complex environments such as construction sites, natural areas, and hard-to-reach locations. The teams worked on solutions that integrate AI, advanced sensors, and automation, with the potential to explore solutions utilizing multiple robots capable of working synergistically to perform various tasks.
During the morning, students delved into:
– Autonomous navigation techniques and AI
– Integration with sensors and robotic platforms
– Identification of key challenges
– Initial phases of concept design
Innovation stems from collaboration, and it was exciting to see young talents test their skills to envision the future of autonomous robotics!
