On November 26 and 27, the second edition of the EDIH Network Summit took place in Brussels, a key event for the community of European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIH). The event, hosted at the Egg Conference Centre in a hybrid format, exceeded all expectations, reinforcing its strategic role in promoting digital innovation in Europe.
A delegation from EXPAND EDIH actively participated in the proceedings, taking part in workshops, round tables, and networking sessions focused on crucial topics such as Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, quantum computing, and best practices for digital transformation across various production sectors.
The event recorded significant numbers:
- Over 1,100 online participants;
- More than 700 in-person attendees;
- 43 countries represented;
- Over 200 European hubs involved;
- 90 matchmaking meetings facilitated, supporting the creation of new collaborations and project synergies.
- During the Summit, the European Commission reiterated the strategic priorities for the continent’s digital ecosystem:
- Development and direct management of key technologies for digital transformation;
- Responsibility for space and security technologies;
- Enhancement of Artificial Intelligence as a lever for digitalization.
In this context, the role of EDIHs is increasingly central: true facilitators of technological adoption in SMEs and Public Administration, capable of translating the European vision into concrete actions. Europe is looking ahead, also investing in emerging technologies such as quantum computing, destined to become as essential a resource as AI. The participation of EXPAND EDIH confirms its ongoing commitment to contributing to the construction of a strong, competitive, and sustainable European digital ecosystem, providing Italian enterprises with tools, expertise, and international connections.
