What are the first steps to start the process?
Starting the digital transformation journey is simple and quick, just fill out the contact form Start your transformation on expand-edih.com.
Once the request is completed, we will arrange a free introductory meeting with one of our KAM experts, who will analyze the specific needs of your company or public entity.
During this initial contact, we will jointly assess the digital needs, the level of technological maturity, and the concrete opportunities for innovation.
Thanks to this initial assessment, we can propose a tailored digitalization plan, based on innovative services provided by a national network of highly qualified partners. Book your first meeting.

How can I know if EXPAND is suitable for my context?
EXPAND is designed to specifically address the real needs of SMEs and Public Administrations in Piedmont and Valle d’Aosta, regardless of the sector or current level of digitalization.
Our process always starts with a personalized analysis, which allows us to understand your objectives, the issues to be resolved, and the opportunities to be seized.
Moreover, EXPAND is part of the European Digital Innovation Hub (EDIH) network, an initiative of the European Commission that ensures high standards of competence, reliability, and impact. If you want to understand if EXPAND is suitable for your reality, contact us for a free and non-binding assessment.
What is the difference between entry-level services and specialized services?
The entry-level are designed to help SMEs and Public Administrations take their first steps in digitalization. They offer awareness activities aimed at sensitizing organizations about the opportunities related to digital transformation. They can also be delivered one-to-many and are free of charge. They represent the ideal starting point to understand where you are and where you can go, before moving on to specialized services.
The services specialized, on the other hand, are intended for those who want to: increase their knowledge in the field of digital technologies, primarily Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity; initiate innovation projects to develop new products, processes and optimize existing ones with Industry 5.0 best practices; receive consultation for accessing Italian and European funds supporting digital transformation; develop a tailored strategy to create a digitalization roadmap suited to their business or collaborate with the innovation network at national and European level for international matching activities between supply and demand aimed at expanding their opportunities.
These services are provided on a one-to-one basis and are customized according to client needs.
For Public Administrations, they are free of charge, thanks to the Digital Europe Programme funds, while for Businesses, these services are accessible with discounts ranging from 30% to 100% thanks to the NRRP.
How can I access discounts for services that offer them?
The services funded with PNRR funds allow enterprises to access benefits under the State Aid regime, provided in the form of an invoice discount.
The benefits vary based on the size of the enterprise and the category of service as provided by the Ministerial Decree of March 10, 2023.
The benefits can reach up to 100% of the service value, provided that the total amount of aid does not exceed 200,000€ per beneficiary over a three-year period, according to art. 28 of the GBER Regulation.
Alternatively, if they fall under the “de minimis” regime, the maximum cap is 300,000 euros on a three-year basis.
The actual discount percentage is determined by the service provider, after verifying the necessary documentation (DSAN).
How do service tickets work?
In the EXPAND model, each service – both entry-level and specialized – is delivered through a ticket, which determines the price. Each ticket corresponds to a single support session, the value of which can vary based on:
- type of service (e.g. Training and Skills Development, Test Before Invest, Support to Find Investments, Networking and Innovation Ecosystem),
- level of complexity and customization,
- duration and intensity of the intervention.
For more structured activities, which require longer times than those provided for a single session, clients can use multiple tickets to repeatedly access the same service.
Based on what criteria can I choose the KAM (Key Account Manager)?
Within the EXPAND project, the KAM is the reference figure who will follow you throughout the digitalization process, helping you to:
- analyze the specific needs of your organization,
- define a personalized intervention plan,
- coordinate service providers and monitor results.
The choice of KAM is not random, but is based on precise criteria, to ensure affinity, competence, and added value.
– Geographical area: to facilitate territorial proximity and possible in-person support.
– Technological experience: based on the key technologies you need (e.g. Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, …), you will be assigned a KAM with a coherent technical background.
– Type of organization: some KAMs specialize in supporting SMEs, others in Public Administration or intersectoral innovation projects.
Usually, EXPAND proposes the most suitable KAM based on your profile and objectives. However, if you have already collaborated with one of our contacts or wish to consult with a specific KAM, you can indicate this during onboarding and we will assess availability.
